Week 3-4: Finding a Balance
You will work in small groups (4 individuals) to consider real environmental dilemmas and provide solutions to these dilemmas. For this project, we will focus on La Crescenta, a community approximately 15 miles north of Los Angeles. You will be working as a small group to evaluate the safety of your community's school children in the event of natural hazards, such as earthquakes and landslides. In order to do this you will have to study the geological information presented to you, discuss the data, and present your findings at a "community meeting". Your advisor will provide you with a packet of information and a list of websites which will be used for this project.
